
Since the store seems to be experiencing a shortage of dried figs, as of late, I opted to use dates in place of the figs for this recipe being that the texture and flavor is very similar. The smoothie came out great and it carries a little tartness, combined with mild sweet…just like I like em.

2 1/2 c frozen matchstick carrots
3 tbs frozen date pieces
3 frozen tart cherries
1/4 tsp fresh ginger, peeled and minced
1/4 tsp turmeric
Juice of 1 small lemon
1 2/3 c orange juice
Transfer everything to the blender and puré until smooth. You can freeze lemon juice in ice cube trays and simply toss 1 large cube in per lemon.
