Easiest Jelly Doughnuts

Deep fried jelly doughnuts made right in the comfort of your own kitchen in a matter of minutes. These little jewels taste just as good as they look. The best part is you are not hindered by the doughnut menu, but merely by your own creativity. Fill them with your favorite jellies, jams or preserves. Do you like grape jelly? Hey, knock yourself out and blow the minds of all your unsuspecting guests. Maybe fig preserves or grand Marnier infused cherries are more your style…what a beautiful thought. Go for it! Open your mind and get creative with this one.

1 can plain biscuits
1 c strawberry preserves, or jelly of choice
½ c powdered sugar

Preheat deep fryer to 350˚
Remove biscuits from can and separate on a nonstick workstation. Use your fingers to gently press centers of biscuits flat to create a well. Spoon out about 1 good sized tbs of preserves onto the center of each biscuit. Fold one side over to create a half-moon shape and press edges together using a fork. Make sure the edges do not become moist or the dough will not stick. Set in deep fry basket and fry about 3 at a time for roughly 3-5 minutes on each side until golden. Transfer to paper towel and repeat with remaining biscuits. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before sifting powdered sugar over the top of your freshly made jelly doughnuts.
