Little Black Dress is a simply delicious new Merlot wine I recently found. It’s lighter than a cab, but still gives you that dryness your taste buds might be looking for. It has hints of red fruits, mild oak and a wonderful slightly vanilla finish, something you have to look for after you swallow. I thought the vanilla was a nice touch. Many times, the smoked oak barrels these wines are left to ferment in carry this vanilla or tobacco flavor. It is indeed another California wine and can be purchased for a reasonable price of about $8-$10. Again, remember, your red wines will usually compliment red meats and red sauces and vice versa with the whites. Unfortunately, this wine is no longer available where I live. 😦
