Sweet And Sticky Whiskey Peach BBQ Sauce

I love this sauce! I came up with this after making another peach sauce that I’ve dubbed Sweet Peach Heat. It’s a great sauce for jerk and Caribbean recipes, but it wasn’t sticky and sweet like bbq sauce, and I looooove bbq sauce. So, I threw a few things together, taste testing throughout the entire process until I came up with this recipe. It’s perfect on wings, chicken, pork or even sweet potatoes and fries. If you’re looking for more heat to cut some of the sweet, puré half of a fresh habanero with the vinegar and transfer to the sauce on the stove. That should light anyone up a bit.

3/4 cup peach preserves
2/3 c whiskey
1 c ketchup
1/4 c honey
3/4 c brown sugar
1 tbs chili powder
1/2 tbs cayenne
3/4 tbs paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tbs blk Pepper
1/2 c apple cider vinegar

Transfer all ingredients to a medium pot. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to rest until cooled. Transfer sauce to a reserved bottle or container and voila! Fantastic Sweet Whiskey Peach BBQ Sauce.
