Being that milk and I do not get along, and I just can’t get used to the taste of almond milk, I usually use orange juice for my smoothies. So, I was looking at some photos of smoothies the other day and saw AB&J. I had absolutely no idea what that was, I mean, I’ve heard of PB&J. Incidentally, AB&J is pretty much the same thing, only with “almond” butter, but I have no almond butter on hand. I was looking around in the pantry, trying to figure which ingredients I wanted to throw together to make a smoothie. I had Granola with Flax, not too many frozen strawberries, but plenty of blackberries. Being that I didn’t want to combine orange juice and granola I decided to use canned coconut milk. I like Imperial Dragon. The end result was pretty awesome.
1½ c frozen strawberries
½ frozen bananas
½ c frozen black berries
1 c granola w/flax seeds
13.5 oz coconut milk “1 can”
2 tbs hemp seeds
2 tsp honey
Transfer everything to a blender and puré until smooth. Pour into an insulated cup and you’re ready to go!
